In a particularly heated exchange yesterday, Treasury Board President Reg Alcock challenged Conservative Deputy Leader Peter McKay to "step outside" after the MP questioned "who took the money and where did it go" with regards to the sponsorship scandal.

Convinced that McKay had uttered the word "stolen," Alcock issued the challenge with his usual false bravado and utter ignorance.  Not being one to stand down, McKay got up and walked outside of the chamber, motioning for Alcock to do the same.  With a crowd of MPs and reporters running after the two prize fighters (one can only imagine if the spectators were screaming "Fight! Fight" from the sidelines), the battle escalated to a shouting match and a lot of finger wagging...enough to send shivers down the spine of every fight fan.

As it turns out, a review of Hansard transcripts proved that Mr. McKay in fact never uttered the word, but rather said "misspent," to which Alcock responded ""Well, (Conservative MP) Vic Toews said it..."  Good answer, Reg.

A tale of the tape shows that Alcock stands at 6' 6", and after a new training regimen (he apparently switched from a diet of fast food to a new regime that frequently inserts his foot into his mouth), weighs in at a spry 300 pounds.   McKay, an avid rugby player, is 6' 1", 190 pounds, and what he gives up in size he more than makes up for in his youth and his ability to change positions and his word on a whim.

With the coming spate of negative attack ads from the Liberals towards Conservative leader Stephen Harper, Canadians can curl up on their couches and get ready for a whole new wave of raised voices, finger pointing, and maybe even a few character assassinations.

Oooohhh, you can cut the tension with a knife.
