July, 2004 Archives July 30, 2004 - Heartfelt and sincere condolences go out to former federal Minister Herb Dhaliwal, whose wife Amrit Kaur Dhaliwal passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Dhaliwal was always the rock behind her husband's political career, and much of the inspiration for the way he conducted himself within the halls of power. She was a wonderful lady, loved and appreciated by everyone who came in contact with her. To the Dhaliwal family, please keep strong and know that all your friends are thinking of your well being. First, if there was any doubt that still remained regarding Paul Martin's inability to govern, this is a damning account of ineptitude that should be carefully considered. Taking over as Prime Minister of this country involves a lot more than effective backroom politics and empty rhetoric...something that Martin's team of political operatives might have considered in their race to the top (or bottom, based on their performance in office thus far). Secondly, this was taken from the UpFront section in this week's Maclean's magazine: "SHIPPING NEWS In a routine search, customs agents in Sydney, N.S., found 83 kg of cocaine that divers apparently attached to the hull of a Canadian Steamship Lines cargo ship during a stopover in Venezuela. CSL is now owned by the sons of Prime Minister Paul Martin; the ship was named after his wife, Sheila Ann." Now, would that be considered a "hidden agenda"? July 9, 2004 - Subversion is not simply a tactic casually employed by the Bush White House, but rather the only way they know how to govern.
