What's New

March 23, 2007 - Enough politics already.

This story is shocking, particularly with the fact that the most prominent rumour circulating in cricket circles asserts that disgruntled bookmakers are responsible. Bob Woolmer was about to blow the lid off of match fixing in the game, and millions of dollars in shady financial interests hung in the balance. I have played organized cricket since childhood, and one of my former teammates is now a member of Team Canada currently playing in the World Cup taking place in the Caribbean.

Speaking of cricket, my season has been delayed from starting for the past couple of weeks because of the amazing amount of rain that this city has been hit with. Go take a walk on a playing field, and see your legs sink into the ground up to your knees. I don't complain like some about the weather in Vancouver, because if you live here, you get used to being wet. That being said, this has been a winter to remember, from the vicious wind storms to the flooding to the boiled water advisories to the Noah's Ark-like 40 days and 40 nights of rain, rain and more rain. Today alone, it is expected that 60 mm will blanket the city.

I'm getting really sick of it.
